Summer Adventure

So I have not written in my blog for a while and much has happened. The first part of June we planned a trip to Lake Powell to see my long lost sisters. On the way, while driving through Kanab, we see this awesome old car show. We turned around and had to walk around. A very nice lady offered to take a picture of all of us, which I was very greatful for.
These are just a few of the amazing cars that were on show.

Full of sparkles and shining, of course this car had to have a
"Sparkly" license plate.

Aleah decided she wanted to take this little blue quad for a drive, I think it was her favorite of all.
We saw all the great cars that people spend so much time and money to put on show for all of us to see, and then continued on our journey. If you have ever been to Lake Powell, the view is amazing. We drove over a hill and around a corner to a beautiful lake with amazing sandstond architecture.

Aleah, of course, was soooo excited to see water that she was the first one heading to the lake.

After walking down the 1/4 mile sidewalk and hill we at last found who we were looking for.
These are Autumn's two boys, who are such great kids and love everything about life.

If you can't tell, Autumn decided to tickle us and Rachal was trying to move her hand. Aleah found her new best friend, Diesel, Rachal's puppy.

After Aleah got to know her Aunts, who she had never seen before, she was running and playing everywhere with anyone who would follow.

With perfect weather and a beautiful location why not throw the football. David was enjoying a sport he had never played before, he was not too bad at all.

I love how Lane's arm do not cover David's face in this picture. Then you can see the emotion on both of their faces.

Madison and Aleah followed eachother, laughed, and chased Road runners, and became inseperable.

Aunt Rachal was acting like she was going to fall and Aleah thought it was the funniest thing in the world.

Sleep was not even an option for this cute little guy, Aleah was by his side almost every waking minute.

The weather was perfect but the water was freezing, you have to love snow melt water in June. Which soon led to a nightmare I hoped never would happen. The water became so cold to play in after I took this picture that everyone got out of the water.
Which led to another game with the football. While we were playing someone noticed a flip flop out close to the bouy. David decided to swim out to get it, which started the nightmare. He was swimming great and was so far away when I zoomed out all the way with my camera, I could not see his face very well. As he stopped and started swimming back his lungs shut down and he started to have hypothermia. (He was still out by the bouy at this time) I though he was still ok because he was still swimming. I had a feeling to turn and take a picture of Aleah. But as you can see it is almost the same as the other picture I took with her and the puppy so I told myself no I don't need a picture. I had another feeling to turn and take a picture.

So I turned and took this photo, as soon as I did David yelled, "Jarica HELP"
I threw the camera and everything I had and took off to help him, when I got to him only his face and half his head was above the water. I grabbed his arm and tried to pull him, he was so heavy it pulled me under. At this moment I turn and yell for help. Two more people came and helped pull him close enough for a sweet old man with a boogy board to slide it under him and pull him to shore. At that time I was still where I could not touch so I asked for help. With the help of many wonderful people, my family, heavenly father, and many angels. All of us made it to shore ok, and we learned the hard way that heat stroke and hypothermia are not friends. Oh and this was all on the first day. But no matter how terrified I was and how scared David was, he tells me later that day that he is going to practice so next time he can swim around the bouy and come back. =S I am not sure how I feel about that.

But despite all that happened we had an awesome time, ate so many s'mores our stomaches hurt, played quarenta, chased a road runner and many lizards and we would go back anyday.
